On World Earth Day, which we celebrate annually on April 22rd, “Mother Earth” is crying out for help to all of her “children,” all inhabitants of the planet, to urgently care for her and repair the damage that is being done to the earth, which Pope Francis calls “Our Common Home — Our mother is crying out to us because of the harm we have inflicted on her by our irresponsible use and abuse of the goods with which God has endowed her.” The earth can indeed be called a “Mother,” as she provides for what we need to live.

The Diocese of San Angelo will launch the diocesan phase of the Eucharistic Revival on Saturday, June 18, 2022, with the celebration of Mass and Eucharistic Procession from Sacred Heart Cathedral, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Bishop Michael Sis will celebrate the evening Mass and lead the outdoor procession in the San Angelo downtown area. After the procession, the diocese will hold an overnight vigil of Eucharistic Exposition at Sacred Heart Cathedral, which will conclude with Benediction before the celebration of the 10:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 19.

One frequent tactic used by criminals to defraud the faithful is to utilize text messages or email to impersonate a pastor and ask for the purchase of gift cards. The person claiming to be the pastor will claim they need gift cards for some charitable reason, but say they need the person receiving the text messages or emails to purchase the gift cards and share the validation information.
