Ordination is approaching so fast! It seems like just yesterday I was entering seminary with two other brothers, with plenty of time to spare. This ordination is a call that I accepted many years ago, and I know I cannot do it alone. There has been so much support over the years from friends and family. As I am looking forward to being ordained, it is the reverse of what any other big ceremony or celebration entails. I am not being promoted or given a great honor to boast of. No, I am being called to serve even more. I must wash the feet of the poor and serve the table. I am following Christ the servant, to whom I am continually dedicating my life. As I have faced many struggles, the one constant in my life has been Christ. His patient love and presence has filled me with peace time and time again. As I approach the altar, I expect to be changed. Not in a moment of sudden and complete transformation, but in the little things. I am called to put aside my own life, and live for Christ who came not to serve but to be served.
